Psychology and Interface Design

Great summary of psychology in interface design via UX Magazine, in particular:

  • If pages are cluttered people can’t find information.
  • Use grouping to help focus where the eye should look.
  • Things that are close together are believed to “go” together.

Although this seems self-evident, most user interfaces do not optimize for this behavior and most of the behaviors listed in the post.
