Initial Design for Conversions

Businesses can use the web to help them grow in a number of different ways, including: branding, providing product/service information, & generating direct action/sales. Of those three, which will have the most immediate and tangible results? Almost certainly the generation of direct action/sales. Although, the first two uses are very legitimate, they do not help the web site owner to contact the site’s visitors afterward; however, the third use does.

If you are a web site owner you likely want your site’s visitors to buy your products of use your services, right?  As such your web site should be initially designed to do that. Although you can use tailored landing pages to accomplish this goal some of the time, if conversions are an afterthought once the site has been designed and built, the integration of conversion driving mechanisms will likely not be as effective.

Make sure that when your site is first designed and developed, you communicate this fact very clearly to the web designer(s)/developer(s) you are working with.
